This is a summit tarn on a natural shelf which sits between Angletarn Pikes and Brock Crags in the Far Eastern Fells area of Lake District. Standing at an elevation of 479 m (1,571 ft), it stretches around 0.4 km (a quarter of a mile) in length and features an island and rocky knolls. Its moderate altitude has made it a popular spot for wild swimming, wild camping and fishing for trout. As it is in close proximity to Wainwright's Coast to Coast Path, it is also visited by walkers either on this route or 'bagging' Wainwright's Lakeland Fells.
