The first 56 highest mountains in the UK are located in Scotland, but that's not all. This country is the home of 4,429 mountains and hills with a height over 100 m (~300 ft). It's worth mentioning Ben Nevis, the highest "Munro", with an elevation of 1,344 m (4,409 ft) above the sea level. According to John Muir Trust, over 100,000 ascents take place here every year, averaging 274 ascents per day.
