Ben Nevis is the highest mountain in Scotland and over 100,000 people climb it every year using the well-constructed pony track from Glen Nevis on the south side of the mountain.
After a day of hiking, you can treat yourself with a visit to the Ben Nevis Distillery, a single malt whisky distillery at the foot of the mountain. Or you can try one of the many activities offered via organised tours on Ben Nevis or in the area surrounding it, which is full of natural and cultural treasures.
Another interesting fact about Ben Nevis is that its summit is the collapsed dome of an ancient volcano.
