The Ukrainian Carpathian Mountains amaze, not only with their fantastic landscapes and unforgettable scenery, but also with the variety of flora and fauna. The Carpathian National Natural Park encompasses hundreds of species of animals and birds, including many endangered species, and it has been designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
For many tourists, hiking on the famous mountain Goverla, the highest point in Ukraine: 2,061 m (6,760 ft) high is the main reason for visiting the Carpathian Park. To ascend it, you will need a couple of days of hiking.
In the cold season, the Carpathian Park attracts lovers of winter sports with its numerous ski resorts.
