A popular spot with German holidaymakers, Titisee stands at a surface elevation of 845 m above sea level in the famous Black Forest, a wooded mountain range in south western Germany. The lake itself is 2 km long and 1 km wide, with an average depth of 20 m. Carved by a glacier, it’s a superb spot for a range of activities all year round. In summer, come here for swimming, sailing and windsurfing, as well as boat trips on the lake itself. Hikers will enjoy the trail which circles the lake and there are camp sites to extend your stay if you can’t fit everything into one day.
The Black Forest surrounding the lake is crisscrossed with many long and short distance footpaths, as well as mountain biking and cross-country skiing trails, if you feel like stretching your legs beyond the picturesque lake.
