It's a popular beach with surfers - in fact, it is said to be one of the best surf beaches in Devon. Tuition and coaching is available from beginners to advanced surfers locally.

There are rock pools for children and marine wildlife enthusiasts to explore at the south end of beach, which is Marine Conservation Society Recommended. Coastal footpaths run behind the beach for walkers.
