About Breakwater Beach (Shoalstone)

Breakwater Beach in Brixham is regarded as being one of the safest and cleanest beaches along what’s known as the English Riviera. It has secured both Blue Flag and Quality Coast Awards and has also been recommended by the Marine Conservation Society.

Scuba diving and open water diving are particularly popular pastimes here as the waters are generally very calm and clear. Training is available locally. Swimming and fishing are also possible here.

The beach is shingle and pebbled and many rock pools are left at low tide. There is disabled access and the beach is close to the Brixham harbour breakwater, walking along which will give lovely panoramic views across the harbour and of Torbay.
