About Church Cove Beach

Church Cove Beach is located in Helston, Cornwall. The beach is sheltered and south west facing, nestled in a cove on the Lizard peninsula. It is also known as Gunwalloe Cove. It is made up of sand, rocks and pebbles, so is popular with families with children who can enjoy rock pooling at low tide.

The beach is named for a small church with bell tower to the north side. Activities include surfing, swimming and body-boarding, although there can be strong undercurrents and other hazards to beware of. The surrounding coastline is part of the Cornwall Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, making for some lovely walks.
