About Derwent Isle

About Derwent Isle

Right in the middle of the famous Derwentwater in Lake District National Park, Derwent Isle proves to be a rare find for tourists. However, the main attraction is not as wild as you may think, as it's just an 18th-century house, privately leased. Considered by some to spoil the views, the residence is open five days a year to the general public.

The access to the island can be more adventurous though, as you can get there by canoe or kayak. Boat trips are also available.
