About Hollingworth Lake

Hollingworth Lake is a 130-acre (50 ha) reservoir situated in a country park. It’s extensively used for recreation, including water sports such as sailing, wind surfing, canoeing and kayaking, swimming, rafting and rowing. Rowing boats are available for hire in summer. There’s a scenic walk around the lake, 4 km (2.5 mi) in length, which passes by a nature reserve and bird hide. The surrounding country park has numerous walks for all levels of ability, from gentle strolls to hillwalking. The lake is also used for fishing, particularly carp, tench and roach. There’s also a caravan and camping ground for overnighters.
