The lake is favored for fishing – it has an impressive stock including crappie, bluegill, largemouth bass, carp, catfish, hybrid striped bass and walleye. There’s also plenty of scope for other water-based activities like canoeing and kayaking, with a state of the art marina open all year round catering for all boating and fishing needs.
Around the lake and in the park there are various hiking and walking trails including eight nature trails each of which run in loops and are between one and two miles long.
The area is also a magnet for birdwatchers, with over 204 recorded species of birds including Trumpeter swan, various geese types, terns and gulls.
