Loch Katrine is a lake in Stirling, Scotland. It is a 13 km (8.1 miles) longs stretch of water, located close to Loch Lomond, at the heart of The Trossachs National Park.
This loch served as the main source of fresh water for Glasgow city for about 150 years.
Loch Katrine can be accessed either by Trossachs Pier, on the east side of the lake, or by Stronachlachar, on the west. There are a couple of small isles in the loch, such as Ellen's Isle, the Black Isle and Factor's Island.
There are bike hiring facilities at the lake so you can rent a bike to help you discover the beauty of the area. And you can also enjoy the stunning views offered by the pier.
