Ben Macdui is the 2nd tallest mountain in the UK and makes for a fantastic journey across the artic-like Cairngorm plateau. Our experienced mountain leaders will guide you along a fantastic route from the Cairngorm ski centre. You will be able to see the impressive northern corries from above and below, follow the south-west edge of the Loch Avon basin and even view a plane wreckage, all this on the way to the apparently haunted Ben Macdui summit. Experience the beauty of the Cairngorm National Park! Sharing with you history, culture and folklore of this beautiful area where I live. We travel back in time with a visit to the Highland Folk Museum, setting for Outlander, Mackenzie village scenes, before visiting Ruthven Barracks, built early 1700 and where jacobites regrouped following the battle of Culloden. We then travel to Loch an Eilein, with the water reflecting the magnificent pines and views of the ruined island castle. We will then drive to Cairngorm mountain car park and enjoy the views across the valley with opportunity for short walk and or enjoy a coffee. Stopping at Loch Morlich beach as we descend towards the village of Aviemore With time for a whisky tasting at the Snug / Gin Tasting, Kinrara / Cairngorm Brewery options Ending the day with sheep dog demonstration. Private group tours up Ben Nevis, the UK's highest mountain with a fully qualified local mountain guide.

A stunning 9km / 5.5 mile forest walk following the winding Water of Nevis to the dramatic Steall Falls. The route meanders through the rocky Nevis Gorge and opens to the panoramic landscape of Glen Nevis. Steall Falls is third highest waterfall in Scotland and cascades 105 meters down the rock face. In Gaelic it's called An Steall Bàn meaning "The White Spout". This iconic area is featured in two Harry Potter films. At the end of the walk, there's a wire rope bridge over the river for the adventurous! You'll walk with Trev, your friendly local guide. The path is a little rocky and muddy in places, so he's on hand to help if needed. Plus, he's always happy to take photos. Feel free to bring along a picnic if the weather is nice. A blanket can be provided. This is a family friendly walk for 13+ year olds that are comfortable with the distance and terrain. Please note that if it's not rained for a while, the waterfalls won't be flowing fast.

Travel the Great Glen to view the 'Harry Potter Hogwarts Express' [Jacobite Steam Train] as it crosses the spectacular Glenfinnan Viaduct to 'Hogwarts'.  See the Monument on the other side on the banks of Loch Shiel which signifies the 1745 Jacobite Rising.  Explore Fort William and its quaint local shops, cafes and restaurants. We'll take you to Glencoe where an infamous tragic account of Clan battles struck. It was also where Hagrid's cottage was located. Please know that the Itinerary can change at any time due to unforeseen situations like Attractions private events, Operating hours of Exhibition Centres, etc. Rest assured that we can take you to other equally amazing alternative Attraction.

Your Guide will accompany you up and down the Ben Nevis Mountain path. They are there to provide you with advice and information about the path and the history, and the nature of Ben Nevis. Your Guide will know the mountain well and will be fully qualified and insured for the activity that they are leading. You will need to be properly equipped for your day and for all possible weather. You should have the following kit. - Comfortable walking boots, preferably waterproof, that provide ankle support. - Waterproof jacket and trousers. - Socks. - Baselayers are to be worn next to the skin. (not cotton) - Comfortable walking trousers. (not jeans) - Warm mid-layers. At least two, one to wear and one as an emergency layer. - Hats and gloves. - Head torch - A small personal first aid kit. Plasters etc. - A flask and/or drinks bottle, 1L should be enough. - A rucksack. Anything larger than a 30L pack will do, and a waterproof liner - An orange emergency survival bag.

Join our local guides to help you achieve reaching the summit of Ben Nevis. Our guides can inform you about the local history and environment whilst helping you to manage your pace for the day along with food and water stops.

Group walks up Ben Nevis every Wednesday and Sunday from the start of May to the end of September. Your chance to join a group and together with your guide, climb to the summit at 1344 metres (4411 feet). Based in Fort William and only using local guides, you won't just climb Ben Nevis, you'll learn all about the mountain and the wildlife, geology and history it has to offer. The pub at the end of the path is a great place to finish the day with a well earned pint! Please note that for walks in early May winter boots, crampons and walking axes may be required if there is still snow on the mountain. This kit can be hired at an additional cost from Scottish Mountain Hire in Fort William and we will advise guests as early as possible if it will be required. For all of the walks under 18 year olds MUST be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.
