About Loughrigg Fell

About Loughrigg

Because of its location between Grasmere and Ambleside and easy road access, Loughrigg Fell is extremely popular, not only with fell walkers but with visitors of all types. It stands at an elevation of 335 m (1,099 ft) above sea level and has a prominence of around 172 m (564 ft). It is listed as a Marilyn and a Wainwright and it is a satellite of High Raise. The highest point is marked by an Ordnance Survey triangulation column and a large cairn. There are views of the Langdale Pikes, the fells around Grasmere, the peaks in the Fairfield Horseshoe and the Coniston Fells. Grasmere Lake, Elter Water and a fair section of Windermere are also visible.
