Newlands Valley is regarded as one of the most scenic and peacefull valleys within the Lake District National Park, in Cumbria, England. It is situated close to the popular tourist town of Keswick. Stair is the main settlement, and includes the Newlands Adventure Centre. This valley was widely mined and quarried for many years, where lead, copper, silver and gold have been extracted. The landscape consists of farmland in the valley bottom and soaring fells above, such as Barrow, Causey Pike, Catbells, Knot Rigg, Maiden Moor, Dale Head. The valley is an excellent base for a walking holiday and offers a vast varietu of walking routes.
