Penyghent is a hill in the Yorkshire Dales. Along with Ingleborough and Whernside it forms Yorkshire Three Peaks. It is linked to the village via the Pennine Way, a National Trail in England with a small section in Scotland. The direct path that crosses the southern side is the path oftenly taken by those attempting the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge. The other hillwalking path heads north from the peak to reach Plover Hill before descending to join the bridleway that is Foxup Road.
