About Poldhu Cove Beach

This sandy, west facing beach is sheltered by cliffs and a popular spot with visitors and locals alike. There is zoning in place for water sports activities, which include surfing, wind surfing, snorkelling, scuba diving, jet skiing, canoeing and kayaking and sailing. Fishing and swimming are also favoured here in these Marine Conservation Society Recommended waters. You may be lucky enough to see dolphins, seals and basking sharks from the shore. A few hundred metres along the southern cliff, named Angrouse Cliff, there is a monument to Marconi, who sent the first wireless signal from here.
