On the north east coast of the Isle of Wight, this beach is in the middle of a wide bay and faces east into the English Channel. At low tide, it has a large, gently sloping sandy beach; at high tide, the sand virtually disappears. It is popular for a wide range of activities and water sports such as sea canoeing and kayaking, sailing, surfing and wind surfing. There is a slip down to the sea for launching small boats. The water quality is excellent and it holds a Quality Coast Award, as well as being Marine Conservation Society Recommended. Access is on foot from Seaview village and the beach is backed by exclusive hotels and large seaside properties.
