About Sgurr a'Mhadaidh

Sgurr a'Mhadaidh is a Munro on the Black Cuillin ridge on the Isle of Skye in Scotland. It is often climbed in conjunction with its neighbour, Sgurr a’Ghreadaidh.

Sgurr a’Mhadaidh has four summits in total, only the highest of which (at an elevation of 918 m / 3,012 ft) can be ascended without rock climbing, although some scrambling is still required. This route involves an ascent via the col of An Dorus (‘the Door’) from a starting point at Glen Brittle. Views from the summit, though, are rewarding with a spectacular outlook in all directions especially south east, where the whole length of the mystic Loch Coruisk can be seen.
