Shoeburyness Beach

This sand and shingle beach near Southend-on-Sea is also known as Shoebury Common Beach or West Beach. Backed by a promenade and with a grassy area for ballgames and picnicking, it is also known for water sports including jet skiing, kite surfing and wind surfing, so it offers something for everyone. Zoning is in place for safety reasons. It holds Blue Flag and Quality Coast Awards and is Marine Conservation Society Recommended. There is a cycle path linking this beach to Shoeburyness' other beach, known as East Beach, which also runs to Southend. From here, there are excellent views of the Thames estuary, bustling with boats.
