This 126 acre (0.51 km2) park lies on the outskirts of Welwyn Garden City. It has two man-made lakes which provide an array of leisure activities: boating on the northern lake, which also has several small islands; and fishing, sailing and wind surfing on the southern one.
There is a water sports centre providing tuition and equipment hire. Day and night fishing is available by ticket (pre-booking required for night fishing) in partnership with Welwyn Garden City Angling Club. A walk around the south lake is 1.8 km (1.14 mi) while the north lake is around 1.6 km (1 mi).
There is also a children’s play area, a nature trail and an orienteering course. To the south of the park, there is access to a Local Nature Reserve, Stanborough Reedmarsh, which is important for its populations of water vole and birds such as sedge and reed warblers.
