About Anstey's Cove (Torquay) Beach

Situated between busier Torquay and Babbacombe, Anstey’s Cove is quieter, but offers something for everyone. The small, shingle beach holds a Quality Coast Award and is Marine Conservation Society Recommended, so is suitable for swimming and kayaking.

Local companies run coasteering trips (equipment provided), with rock climbing, cliff jumping and swimming. The limestone cliffs hold plenty of climbing routes at all grades, trad and sport. Backed by a woodland hillside, whose trails form part of the South West Coastal Path, access to the beach is via a steep slope and steps for views across Lyme Bay to Dorset beyond.
