Scotland it's definitely not all about whisky and kilts, but when you think of skiing in Scotland, a little confusion sign shows up. Well, Cairn Gorm mountain is quite popular with skiing, and Aviemore is one of the best ski resorts in the country.
Although it's located at an altitude of only 550 m (1,804 ft), the resort has 17 lifts, which go up to 1,100 m (3,608 ft). Due to low altitude though, there is no summer skiing. The ski season usually lasts from December to May, and Aviemore offers plenty of other activities.
You can discover Aviemore and the beauty of Cairn Gorm, whether in winter or in summer, with the help of local guided tours.
