This is the largest of Dorset's country parks and dedicated to its internationally important heathland and the rare wildlife that makes its home there. Species particularly to look out for include sand lizards, smooth snakes, Dartford warblers, woodlarks and the silver-studded blue butterfly. As well as heathland there is forested land to explore through some of the many waymarked trails that cross the site. The park is very family-friendly, hosting a large number of educational events and entertainment for children, with an outdoor play area too.
