About Bardsea Country Park

About Bardsea Country Park

This coastal country park overlooks Morecambe Bay and the Lancashire coastline. There are picnicking areas with magnificent views of the bay; and an ancient woodland, Sea Wood, which reaches almost down to the sea with oak, ash and wild cherry trees. This wood is now owned by the Woodland Trust and is a Site of Special Scientific Interest, dotted with boulders left over from the last Ice Age.

The site has plenty of public access with over 3.5 km (2.1 mi) of paths - the Cumbria Coastal Walk runs through it and there are many other shorter terrific coastal walks to be had. There is access from the park to the sand and shingle beach, which is popular for bird watching and sea angling.
