Box Hill Country Park is National Trust owned and managed and lies within the Surrey Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. It is also part of a wider Site of Special Scientific Interest because of the rare wildlife and plants to be found here, which includes the Adonis blue butterfly and bee orchid.
There are breath-taking views across the surrounding North Downs countryside. An extensive range of walks are on offer, for which leaflets are available from the National Trust website, including a section of the North Downs Way, a long distance footpath.
The park was used for cycling events in London 2012 Olympics and as a result is now popular with professional and amateur cyclists.
