About Danes Dyke Beach

This 1.2 km (0.75 mi) long beach is backed by cliffs and is protected as a Site of Special Scientific Interest. It is also a Special Protection Area because of its important seabird colonies. The beach itself lies in a bay and is made up of pebbles and sand, great for rock pooling and fossil hunting, although visitors are advised to steer clear of the cliffs due to the risk of falling rocks.

Activities

Fishing is one of the most common activities – swimming is not recommended and there is no zoning for water sports. The beach has won the Quality Coast Award and is Marine Conservation Society Recommended.
