About Durdle Door East Beach

About Durdle Door East Beach

The spectacular natural limestone arch which lies at the eastern end of this beach in Dorset is one of the most photographed landmarks along this stretch of coast.

The beach itself is composed of mixed sand and shingle. A partially submerged offshore reef protects the waters from swells and provides ideal conditions for fishing, swimming, scuba diving, snorkelling and diving.

The beach comes Marine Conservation Society Recommended for its excellent water quality. Cliff top walks along this stretch of the Dorset Coast Path are moderately challenging and the beach is only accessible on foot.
