About Eskdale Valley

Eskdale Valley is a glacial valley in the west part of Lake District National Park, in Cumbria, England. The Ravenglass and Eskdale Railway runs through the valley, one of the Lake's District most popular attractions. The principal access is from the western side, but it can be accessed also from a steep pass with a motor road leading out of the valley to the east over Hardknott Pass. It is close to Scafell, which is England's highest mountain. An ancient mill, art galleries, waterfalls, the River Esk, a couple of pubs, many places to stay can be found here.
