Extremely popular with surfers from the UK and abroad all year round, Fistral Beach in Newquay, Cornwall is a west facing sandy beach backed by steep sand dunes and high cliffs. The beach is a venue for major international surfing competitions. It’s also favoured by families and other visitors so can become very crowded in peak season.

The water quality has been judged excellent and the beach is Marine Conservation Society Recommended. If you want to try something new, coasteering – exploring the coast by jumping, swimming, and climbing – is also available from Fistral Beach.
