This is a pebbled beach, but a stretch of sand is revealed at low tide. Swimming and water sports are available from the beach as well as sea fishing from the beach or from boats. There is a dedicated child-friendly section and the beach is fully accessible for those wth mobility problems via floating buggies. The location also features Britain’s steepest funicular railway, with views of Beachy Head and across the Channel from the West Hill lift and access to Hastings Country Park from the East Hill lift. The beach holds a Quality Coast Award.
