About Loch Eilt
Loch Eilt is located between the villages of Glenfinnan and Lochailort near Fort William, in Lochaber, western Highlands, Scotland. The loch separates the traditional districts of Moidart, to the south, and Morar, to the north. The lake has a couple of small islands (Eilean Mor, Eilean Gaineamhach, Eilean na Moine and others) covered in ancient Caledonian pine trees, which make them spectacular.
The loch was used as a filming location in the series of Harry Potter. Because of the crowded road, which makes it difficult to find an available viewpoint to take a photo of the lake, the best view is often from the railway, which runs on the southern part of the loch.
