Mill Bay Beach lies within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. It is a privately owned beach with public access permitted, and is especially popular with families because of the rock pools which are revealed at low tide and the safe and clean bathing conditions. The beach itself is sheltered and sandy, and set in a cove across the estuary from Salcombe, from where visitors can catch the ferry to visit. The views are lovely and there is a small National Trust car park - gentle slopes running down to the beach provide good access for the disabled and pushchairs.
