About Oddicombe Beach

About Oddicombe Beach

Surrounded by red sandstone cliffs, this shingle beach is family friendly, offering safe shallows for children's paddling. There is a choice of water sports including surfing and body boarding, with sailing activities on offer. The South Devon Coast Path wraps around the bay, providing exceptional views from the cliff tops and the opportunity to take advantage of the unusually luxuriant plant life and rare butterflies that flourish in the mild climate here. The beach holds the Blue Flag and Quality Coast Awards and is Marine Conservation Society Recommended. Access is via a steep walk from the cliff top, but there is also a cliff top railway for an easier ride.
