Porthallow Beach

Cornwall, England

Moderate
Family Friendly

Porthallow has a small, pebbled beach on which some sand is revealed at low tide, along with rock pools. Geologists are drawn here because of the sheer variety of rocks - Porthallow lies on the glacial fault line that divides the Lizard from the rest of Cornwall. As the sand shelves gently into the sea and the cove itself is sheltered, it is relatively safe for swimming at all points of the tide; although not a beach for surfers. The beach is also used by snorkelers and divers visiting the wrecks of The Manacles.
