About Seaton Beach

This beach is spacious and is largely composed of grey sand and shingle. As it is south-facing and flanked by cliffs on either side, it's very sheltered. It's also a good beach for swimming in relative safety as the tide is coming in, although currents at low water can be unpredictable. The River Seaton flows down through the beach, giving children the opportunity to build dams and bathe in the larger pools. However, this also means that water quality can be variable. It's a good beach for fishing, though, and a large grassy area behind is great for games.
