About Porthluney Beach

Porthluney is also known as Caerhays Beach, as it is privately owned and part of the Caerhays Estate. It lies at the foot of Caerhays Castle and its wooded and grassy grounds. The beach provides an unusually large stretch of sand on this part of the coast, even at high tide. It is also pleasantly sheltered and secluded, making it ideal for families and for swimmers. It is not a beach for surfers, and motorised water craft, including jet skis, are banned to protect the peace and quiet in the area.
