Ten minutes from West Bromwich town centre, Sandwell Valley provides up to 660 acres (270 ha) of country park. There are two working farms – one fully restored to Victorian times with rare and endangered breeds – and an RSPB site with over 150 recorded bird species spotted. The park overall contains meadows, woodlands, pools and streams, with plenty of open spaces for leisure activities. There are miles of footpaths and trails, with provision for horse riders and cyclists (including a Millennium cycle route and mountain bike trail). There’s also an adventure playground and aerial assault course.
