About Stowe Pool

Stowe Pool lies within the city of Lichfield. A former water supply for the Black Country, it is now used for recreational purposes. It is also a designated Site of Special Scientific Interest, primarily as a habitat that supports the native white-clawed crayfish. There is a large and varied wildfowl population and also a diverse mixture of fish species, including carp, bream, tench, roach, perch, pike and eel. Angling is permitted and the water is also used by water sports enthusiasts for sailing and canoeing.
