Seaton Beach lies at the gateway to the Jurassic Coast World Heritage Site. It is a large pebbled beach with strips of sand at low tide, backed by steep cliffs at the western end; and faces onto Lyme Bay. There's good access via a 1km+ esplanade. The beach is gently sloping, making for safe swimming. Other activities include fishing, surfing, wind surfing and sailing. The pebbles on the beach are legally protected, but the area also attracts fossil hunters. The area is a good starting point for many great walks, including a stretch of the South West Coast Path. The beach is Marine Conservation Society Protected.
