Thurlestone Beach is actually composed of two beaches, one is small and located by the golf club and the larger of the two lies further along the coast towards South Milton. Both are sandy and sheltered with shallow waters for paddling. The beaches are sited within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and are not over-commercialised so it's a great place for a relaxing day out. There are rock pools at low tide for exploring, or for the more adventurous, swimming, snorkelling, diving, kayaking, wind surfing and surfing are available (note: no zoning in place for water sports). The beaches are Marine Conservation Society Recommended and the South West Coast Path runs across them.
