On Saddleworth Moor in the Peak District, Yeoman Hey reservoir is one of four reservoirs in the Chew Valley in Greater Manchester: Greenfield Reservoir stands above it while Dovestone Reservoir lies slightly below it; and Chew Reservoir is at the head of the valley. A circular walk around the three reservoirs begins at the Binn Green car park and stretches for around 8.9 km (5.5 mi) on relatively low level ground compared to the surrounding moorland landscape. One significant feature of the reservoir’s dam is a commemorative stone laid by the King of Tonga in 1981.
