Yr Aran is a peak on a ridge radiating south from Snowdon, but is separated from it through a deep and steep col, located in the county of Gwynedd, Wales. It offers stunning views of the summit of Snowdon, Moel Hebog and the Nantlle Ridge. The climbing is easily made as detour from the Rhyd Ddu route or the Watkin Path up Snowdon. Its height reaches 747 m (2451 feet). The approach from Bethania includes some interesting industrial archaeology passing though some of the old working of the South Snowdon mines.
