About Ainsdale Beach

About Ainsdale Beach

This long, sandy beach has multiple attractions for nature and sporting enthusiasts alike. The beach is backed by Ainsdale Sand Dunes National Nature Reserve, a home to the rare natterjack toad, red squirrels and 450 plant species, 33 of which are locally or regionally rare.

Bird watching is also popular – the area is part of a Ramsar site. The beach itself is great for children with its acres of space, but is also used for horse riding and kite surfing – there is a demarked zone for kite buggy activities. Wind surfing is available. The beach won a Quality Coast Award in 2011.
