Barvas Beach is a well-known place for surfing. The car park is right at the edge of the beach. It offers fine walks north up the coast or south along the edge of the boulder beach at Brue and up above high seafronts. This bay reaches stunning waves in stormy weather; it is also a nice place for bird watching and amazing sunsets. Moreover, it offers a fine access track through the machair, which leads to a large sweep of beach with cliffy outcrops and backed by storm boulders.
