About Ben Macdui

Ben Macdui is a mountain on the southern side of the Cairn Gorm plateau, in Aberdeenshire, Scotland. It reaches a height of 1309 m (4295 feet) and is the second highest mountain in UK, after Ben Nevis and the highest in the Cairngorms. The easiest track to climb is from Coire Cas car park, at the bottom of Cairngorm Ski Centre. This path is long for about 7 km (4 mi ), and also allows the climbing of Cairn Gorm. The plateau is extremely exposed and difficult to navigate except in perfect weather. Good scrambling skills and adequate equipment is required.
