Bigbury-on-Sea (North) is a sandy beach with excellent water quality, recommended by the Marine Conservation Society and holder of a Blue Flag Award. At low tide, you can walk along the causeway to Burgh Island just off the beach. A sea tractor takes visitors at high tide. Bigbury-on-Sea (South) is also sandy and has acceptable water quality. Activities from both beaches include swimming, surfing, wind surfing, kite surfing and walking on the South Devon Coastal Path.
