About Blyth South Beach

About Blyth South Beach

Blyth South has a long stretch of sandy beach backed by sand dunes, which are a Local Nature Reserve and area of Special Nature Conservation because of the diversity of plants, butterflies, moths and birds.

The waves attract surfers and there is a zoned area for jet-skiing. Sea angling and canoeing are also popular in the Marine Conservation Society Recommended waters. You may even spot porpoises and dolphins from the beach, or grey seal pups in winter. Bird watchers can see migrant birds in spring and autumn, and there is plenty of access to walks and cycle paths for exploring further afield.
