Broadstairs Beach (Joss Bay)

Broadstairs Beach is regarded as being the best surfing beach in Thanet. The bay is around 200 m (656 ft) long and is backed by steep chalk cliffs with fields and a golf course beyond, providing plenty of room for play. Surf equipment is available for hire. At high tide, the two extremes of the beach are cut off by water, but there is still plenty of sand for picnicking and playing. There is disabled access to the beach via a sloping pathway from the carpark. The beach holds Blue Flag award and is Marine Conservation Society Recommended.
