This sandy, popular beach stretched for over 6km (4mi) and holds the Blue Flag and Quality Coast Awards and is also Marine Conservation Society Recommended. Not surprisingly, therefore, it is a magnet for swimmers, windsurfers, kite surfers, kayakers and canoeists, jet skiers and sailing enthusiasts. Zoning is in place for some of these activities.

The nearby boating lake with its many species of ducks, swans and geese and sand dunes have been designated as the Cleethorpes Lakeside and Local Nature Reserve, making it an attraction for bird watchers and other nature enthusiasts, too.
